Food and Land Based Careers Case Study

Overview

This session formed part of a series aimed at S2 pupils, with the aim of giving them an insight into key industry sectors and the different jobs within them.

Results and effectiveness

118 pupils attended throughout the morning, rotating around four separate employer stations. During each mini session, they had the chance to participate in an interactive activity or watch a demonstration. The young people were engaged and listened well.

Additional benefits

Pupils had the chance to try on PPE, take part in a quiz to learn about food production and handle some gardening tools. They also learned about the employers' own career paths and how these have evolved since leaving school.
