Overview

Arnold Clark's custom-build apprenticeship bus visited three schools across Aberdeen City, allowing pupils to explore the tasks, skills and career opportunities associated with the automotive industry.

Each visit was designed to promote work-based learning through a mix of interactive activities, knowledge testing and career focused insights.

Results and effectiveness

The bus provides young people with an immersive, hands-on exhibition space.

Pupils used interactive boards to tackle practical tasks, simulating:

  • Tyre changing
  • Electrical wiring
  • Alarm system set-up
  • Parts identification.

Additional benefits

As well as gaining an insight into the technical skills required to work in the automotive industry, pupils also heard about the different apprenticeship pathways and early careers on offer at Arnold Clark.

They had the chance to ask questions and gain tailored advice and information on how to apply for the company's apprenticeship programme.
