A targeted event for pupils and their parents/carers to learn more about the sector and the opportunities within it.
A seafood/maritime careers expo for pupils featuring individual presentations from businesses, followed by a more traditional careers fair.
Pupils heard from each business about career paths within their organisation, apprenticeship programmes and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.
They were also able to speak directly with employers during the careers fair section of the event.
Parents and carers were invited to attend the event too. This encouraged conversations between employers and the young people during the interactive element of the expo.
The Scottish Maritime Academy team were able to share information about training opportunities across both commercial fishing and the merchant navy.
Senior Additional Support for Learning (ASL) pupils from Mackie Academy experienced a real-life workplace - and the diverse range of roles within it - courtesy of a visit to their local Asda store.
A tour of Brewdog provided Harlaw Academy senior pupils with an insight into lab-based job roles within the workplace.
