This event, which involved multiple employers, was designed to provide the S1 year group with an insight into Scotland's growth sectors.
The S1 year group at Aberdeen Grammar got to grips with Scotland's growth sectors at a recent event supported by multiple employers from across the region. The pupils developed skills for learning and work by participating in a range of themed, interactive activities.
Pupils experienced the world of work through employer-led presentations and practical guided activities. They tackled the tasks with enthusiasm, demonstrating both their individual capabilities and effective teamworking.
Pre-event activities and the use of log books meant that pupils made the most of their experiences on the day; they captured individual learning points and created a record of the skills they developed.
“I really enjoyed the day and especially liked all the hands-on tasks that the dentists got us to do. Some of them were really tricky!”
Senior Additional Support for Learning (ASL) pupils from Mackie Academy experienced a real-life workplace - and the diverse range of roles within it - courtesy of a visit to their local Asda store.
A tour of Brewdog provided Harlaw Academy senior pupils with an insight into lab-based job roles within the workplace.
