The Library Innovation Network Aberdeenshire (LINA) now launched

LINA launched earlier this month in both Banff and Peterhead libraries with great excitement.

The initiative is a partnership between Robert Gordon University (RGU) and Aberdeenshire Council, designed to support enterprise in the local area. As well as highlighting the co-working spaces and facilities available in Aberdeenshire’s libraries for freelancers, start-ups and growing businesses, RGU will run workshops designed to support innovation and entrepreneurial activity.

The initiative is not limited to supporting budding entrepreneurs and local businesses as school pupils and young people are also invited to take part in order to develop essential entrepreneurial skills.

On offer is a one-day workshop which will include interactive learning and cover topics such as: the business mindset, value proposition, business modelling and the value of story-telling for business.

The initiative has already received much positive feedback and engagement since the launch. It is hoped LINA will support business and encourage economic growth in the local area by giving existing and potential business owners the confidence to evolve their business ideas and drive success.

The workshops will run once a week for the next five weeks in both Banff and Peterhead libraries.

Peterhead: Thursday, 9.30am-4.30pm

Banff: Friday, 9.30am -4.30pm

The workshops are free to attend and can be booked online: www.rgu.ac.uk/LINA
