Registration opens for Build Your Future schools construction challenge

Registration is now open for schools to enter construction competition

Grampian Construction Training Group and Mearns & Gill have recently launched a brand new challenge for S2 pupils, aimed at highlighting the range of exciting and rewarding career opportunities within construction, and the various pathways for pupils to take to get there.

Some key facts are below:

  • This challenge is open to every school in the city and shire.
  • The challenges will take place at a range of venues around the city and shire.
  • The first round of half-day challenges will take place in October and November 2019, with a final one-day event taking place in January 2020.
  • The event is free to take part in and transport will be provided.

To encourage pupil engagement and generate pupil interest in the lead up to the event, there will be a simple task to be completed in the classroom ahead of the day, designed to promote group discussion about what construction actually means, and the diverse range of professions and disciplines within it. This task will be with you by Friday, September 6 if you think it will be of use.

Schools wishing to get involved should contact Mike on Michael.wilson@mearns-gill.com or 01224 646311.
