Can you help our Business Skills Foundation Apprentices?

Aberdeenshire Council

During the pandemic, businesses are facing challenges like never before. Keeping in touch with your clients and contacts has never been more important and thinking out of the box has become a daily necessity.

We have a team of skilled young people ready to help. Our Foundation Apprentices are talented, enthusiastic and ambitious 16-18 year olds who are keen to support you and your business while gaining themselves a qualification.

  • Would a weekly newsletter to your clients raise your business profile? If so, they can write it.
  • Would an increased social media presence reach new audiences? If so, they can create it.

Do you have any tasks that you need completed that would allow our pupil to spend three hours a week with you – for one month (or more)?

Ideally they would be placed with you but remote working is great.

There are no costs to this and no hidden extras.

Alongside gaining a new team member for free, you would be helping a young person develop new skills, gain valuable experience of the world of work AND achieve a qualification – the Foundation Apprenticeship - which is equivalent to a Higher. It combines learning at school with practical experience in a workplace.

Last year over 300 pupils from academies across Aberdeenshire achieve the qualification and both they and the employers involved found it a fantastic opportunity, with pupils able to assist with administrative tasks, produce written content and look for new business opportunities.

If you can offer an opportunity or need more information then please contact Shona Watts, Placement Co-ordinator.
