Hello!

Welcome to the third edition of The Desk, a blog about my journey as a Digital Marketing Modern Apprentice for DYW Moray and DYW North East.

Since the second edition of The Desk, I have relocated my desk to a brand-new location. When I say ‘relocated’, I mean that I have been able to move into a fresh, bright office at Moray College UHI, Elgin. It is really good to be working in an office, have a change of scenery, enjoy all of the benefits that there are, and work alongside my DYW colleagues!

Recently, I created the newsletter for DYW North East. For this, I had to think of items and articles to feature, create eye-catching elements and incorporate these in a way that would be appealing to the reader. As this was the first time that I had properly worked on a newsletter for DYW, I was given a walkthrough of how things are done and I felt confident that I could ask questions and the team were supportive and happy to check it over and make suggestions. I enjoyed creating the newsletter for DYW North East and I look forward to creating more in the future.

Since the last edition of The Desk, the regional Young Person’s Guarantee campaigns have begun for DYW North East and DYW Moray. For these campaigns, I have assisted in the writing of articles and have uploaded these to the websites of DYW North East and DYW Moray. I have also designed graphics and created social media posts to feature alongside these. As part of the campaigns, I am enjoying working with my colleagues who are connecting with lots of employers in the Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, and Moray areas and also creating other content that is being featured in the campaigns. The campaigns will run for a total of five months, ending in January 2022, so there’s lots still to come!

In the second edition of The Desk, I spoke about how I hoped to utilise my imagination and unleash my creativity further to enhance the appeal, awareness and attraction of DYW Moray and DYW North East. Since then, I have been able to freely design and create many items for DYW Moray and DYW North, with many of these being featured on each of their social media channels. I look forward to continuing to do this in the coming months.
