Overview

Aberdeenshire Council delivers a range of Foundation Apprenticeships for senior secondary pupils in our region. These qualifications combine classroom and work-based learning, and are linked to regional and national labour market opportunities.

Employers can get involved with Foundation Apprenticeships by offering young people a work placement as part of their qualification. This experience has multiple benefits: the young person gains a valuable insight into the world of work, while the employer has access to fresh ideas and the opportunity to develop future talent.

• An introduction to Developing the Young Workforce North East and our role in encouraging employers to offer work placements.
• An overview of the different Foundation Apprenticeships offered by Aberdeenshire Council
• A step-by-step guide to the work placement element of Foundation Apprenticeships, outlining the process for employers from initial interest through to placement completion.
• Insights from a Foundation Apprenticeship assessor, who will explain the requirements of employers and the support that is available to you
• Shared experience from an employer who is already supporting Foundation Apprenticeships.
