Established in 2014 the Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) North East group is one of a network of industry led groups, funded by Scottish Government, to increase and strengthen employer engagement with young people. Through engagement with thousands of employers DYW has already enriched the school experience for tens of thousands of young people.

DYW North East is recruiting for additional DYW employer school coordinators to join the Central & South Aberdeenshire, North Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City teams.

The DYW employer school coordinator will work, with schools and other agencies, to support the implementation of a programme of employer engagement aimed at increasing pupils’ career awareness and skills development as part of realising the Young Person Guarantee for all young people in Scotland.

They will also work with the DYW regional team to actively recruit a range of local employers to be involved in supporting young people as part of the Young Person Guarantee.

If you have a passion for inspiring the next generation, a good employer network, a track record of working in partnership with other organisations, and most importantly are enthusiastic and flexible with a “can do” attitude then this role might be for you.

The ability to engage with employers and the business community across all sectors is key to this role, as is working as part of a wider team to ensure delivery on programme performance indicators.

Following completion of a central DYW induction programme you will be based in agreed secondary schools in Central & South Aberdeenshire, North Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City. The post will be broadly based on a term time contract and a PVG will be required.
