MHI Vestas has advised that the apprentice role for the Moray East project has now been finalised and applications are now being sought.
Background
MHI Vestas are the turbine manufacturer that was selected for Moray Offshore Windfarm (East) Ltd, known as Moray East. The project will see 100 turbines emerge from the 100 foot depths of the Outer Moray Firth generating up to 950MW of power, and as you may be aware Fraserburgh Harbour was selected for the Operations and Maintenance base for the project.
The O&M port will provide the principal onshore base from which the wind farm will be operated, and from which routine maintenance activities will be undertaken. Fraserburgh Harbour’s selection as the preferred port for the operation and maintenance phase of this project is significant not just for Fraserburgh, but the whole area and one which will carry ongoing benefits in the years to come.
