Northfield Academy in Aberdeen set up a Careers Fayre earlier this year. The aim of this fayre was to open the door to current school pupils, school leavers and the wider local community and provide them with an opportunity to meet with local employers. It was at this fayre that Cammach Recruitment met Rianne Gorman.

Rianne Gorman said; “’ I left Northfield Academy in 2017 to study at University. Quickly thinking that University was not right for me, I then started to look for an opportunity to enter the work place where I could continue my learning and gain valuable on the job experience. When my old school hosted a careers fayre in January, I thought it was a good opportunity to try and find work. I went along and met Cammach Recruitment who had a stand there and they chatted to me about what I wanted to do and took my CV – they were in touch quite a bit over the next few weeks. One of their clients Add Energy, who had an opportunity for a project management apprenticeship, invited me to interview and offered me an apprenticeship which is hoped to progress onto a project management position in the future. I am so excited to start work.

Ali Dow, Deputy Head Teacher of Northfield Academy said; “I am delighted that Rianne took advantage of our job fayre which provided opportunities of positive destinations for both our pupils and the local community. University is not right for everyone and this is an encouraging example of a student who has found a career path that will provide continued learning and experience and we wish her all the best in her exciting new job.”

Donna Liddle, Business Development Director at Cammach Recruitment said; “We were delighted to be invited to take part in the Careers Fayre and to support a local school. As part of Cammach Recruitment’s ongoing social responsibility campaign, 12 Wishes, we choose a person, group of people or organisation each month, in the local Aberdeen community, that we can offer help to.  We are delighted to share this success story and we wish Rianne all the best in her new role with Add Energy.
